Chalet Landscape Contest 2009

Chalet' Friendship Garden Donated to McLennan Youth Center

Landscape Contest Winner - Youth Services of Glenview - Northbrook Last fall Chalet asked for applications from community groups to donate one $100,000 landscape or garden. From 34 North Shore schools, park districts, social service, cultural and environmental groups, and along with partner North Shore Magazine, Chalet selected Youth Services of Glenview/Northbrook.

A team of Chalet landscape architects spent countless hours reviewing each application, matching them against a thorough and thoughtful list of criteria and determining feasibility, conducting site visits and interviews.

The process was not without some anguish. “The effort every organization put into its application was staggering,” Senior Landscape Architect Stan Seianas said. “Each cause is so worthy. I didn’t think it would be so hard to give away $100,000.”
