The goal of this backyard re-design was to create a space that was kid friendly, yet grown up at the same time. The new landscape needed to be contemporary in style, easy to maintain, and functional for the whole family.
The clients have small children, who love their trampoline and as such it became a challenge to the back yard layout. The solution was to position the trampoline on the side of the backyard to maximize the usable space as well as install bluestone chip gravel underneath. Once the children outgrow the trampoline, it can be removed and the gravel area will serve as a space for additional seating or a fire feature for the adults to enjoy.
The previous back yard landscape was mostly lawn, which quickly turned to mud when the children played on it. The new artificial turf and bluestone steppers provide a clean playing surface. A low maintenance landscape was important to the homeowner's and a simplified planting scheme compliments the home while achieving that goal
